At the Patricia Grand, it's out with the old and in with the new. The hotel features newly renovated one-bedroom oceanview and oceanfront units sleeping anywhere from two to six guests. Several floor plan layouts offer additional bedding for families including two double beds or two queen beds with pull-out couches. Family units feature fully equipped kitchens with cooking utensils, dishes, a microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator and stove.
All units offer furnished private balconies with gorgeous views of the ocean and beach. Enjoy a drink on the balcony and watch the sunset, while the kids play or watch TV. There are LCD TVs in both the living room and bedroom with HBO channels. Daily housekeeping services are provided as well as complimentary high-speed Internet access.
Now that the Patricia Grand has become a pet-friendly resort there is no need to leave your furry friend at home. The hotel has specific rooms and floors selected as pet-friendly, and there is a 20-pound weight limit for all pets as well as a nightly fee. Pets are not allowed in the pool areas and must be on a leash when in public areas of the resort.
The Patricia Grand is an affordable, oceanfront, pet friendly hotel. I was happily surprised the ocean view room was essentially a ocean front room. Worth the money we will be coming back. Closer to North Myrtle Beach. About six minutes away from Broadway on the Beach.
We stayed at the Patricia Grand in August of 2019. The location is perfect, right on the beach! The room was very clean, bed comfortable and the small kitchen was super convenient. The pools and hot tubs are nice, but the lazy river is super tiny and not worth even getting in.
The only complaint I have is the BLASTING music coming from the pool area day and night. We were right above the pool on the 8th floor and you could still hear the music. Fridays and Saturdays are even worse, when they have a "DJ" and they are blasting music and there is karaoke until midnight. I called to ask if the music could be turned down slightly (to at least the level it is at on weekdays) and I was told I was being transferred to the restaurant (?) and was then hung up on.
On another note, the air conditioner in the bedroom area was not working and they were VERY prompt about fixing it (took maybe 2 hours, and that was with calling in a specialist). Despite the music, the Patricia Grand was nice to stay at and is near everything.
Go for a dip in one of the many hotel pools including a large oceanfront pool, a kiddie pool with fountains and a rain tree, and an indoor pool and lazy river. If that's not enticing enough for your children, the beach is mere steps away.
