Just Don’t

by salberts86

I travel a lot for work and have been in super nice places and not so nice places. This is quite possibly the nastiest, most run down hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The linens are dirty (as in hair, crumbs, stains, questionably laundered dirty,) the toilet is coming off the wall (where it is mounted, instead of at the base,) mold is visible, furniture is ripped with exposed upholstery staples, the floors are disgusting, the shower is moldy, the drapery has visible thick dust....I could go on. It was dated and not in a historical way, as much as it was an “if we call it historical we can get away with not updating a single thing,” kind of way.
There is only one working elevator, the restaurant they boast online isn’t in service unless being used for banquets, I was approached multiple times outside for money, cigarettes, etc.
I should also mention that I live in a larger city and have never felt as uncomfortable alone there as I did here.
It’s a great deal if you don’t mind wishing you’d have brought shower shoes and plan to be too drunk to care about the filth. Otherwise, spend the extra cash and find one of the many suitable, clean hotels in the area.
On the other hand, it is conveniently located if you’re looking for something to do in the evenings or for a great local restaurants.
Still don’t think I’d do it again.

Comfortable bed made this a GREAT value

by Kimberly G

I value a comfortable bed, and this inexpensive hotel completely surprised me by having a great bed! The room was also very clean and the staff was super nice.
We went to a WVU football game, 20 minutes away and only paid $80 for this gem of a room. What a bargain for a game weekend!
