I'm curently staying at Club Med Amie La Plagne. I'm a day 1 snow boarder. Everybody in my group has done it before, therefore I'm playing catch up all day. Day 3 today, taken up steep narrow slopes, therefore I'm unable to turn and just heal slide down my afternoon slopes. Whilst I'm fit, I was exhausted. The instructor is a nice chap, but having seen me slide down all afternoon and waiting for me evey 300 meters he left me so I didnt know where the group was or what lift they took. I took one of the lifts to get back home, which was the wrong one. I then walked over 50 mins down the hill sliding. Upon my return nobody from ESF was aware that I was missing. Thomas the ESF manager said I was an adult. He was unable to inform me of any policy for a missing day 3 snowboarder. Bottom line is the instructor is a nice guy, but the duty of care is shocking from ESF. Still I'm back now so I will await both the Club Med manager to comment and Thomas the ESF manager. As a frequent user of Club Med for our families I have experienced and expect better.
Just returned from our first visit to this club and we changed our booking to return next year. Compared to club med Serre Chevalier it was more compact, more intimate. The restaurant was less chaotic and no problem queues at the buffet. There was slightly less choice than in a bigger club in terms of number of food options out but it was good quality and the scales now confirm there was plenty to eat! The smallness of the club meant it is easy to find your group in the main areas and easy to access the bar during meals. I was pleased that prosecco and aperol spritz was included at the bar. The terrace is a bit small and unless you are quick to reserve a table at lunch the minute you get back, you won’t get one.
A great week all in all with some ski instructor issues that were sorted out directly.
I liked the interconnecting hotel room and thought it was fine. Comfortable with new pillows.
