Overview

A comfortable hotel a bit on the older side, Coco Reef is a nice place to take the family as long as you’re not against some 80s-esque décor and aren’t necessarily looking for luxury. The property features a pool and onsite restaurant, and is only steps away from the beach, and 10 minutes from Hamilton. Rooms are clean and the staff is friendly, so if you’re looking for a cozy place to return to at night after a day spent out and about on the island, Coco Reef won’t disappoint you.

Cockroaches

by FellowTraveler289835

We had COCKROACHES in our room. The solution from the hotel was a maintenance man with a can of bug spray, and when he sprayed the sliding glass door 5 more cockroaches fell out, causing me to run screaming and cut my leg on the coffee table. The bug spray (aka poison in a can) gave me a horrible headache. There was a cockroach in my overnight bag. After killing it in the bag, I had to throw away about $500 in personal belongings because it had cockroach guts everywhere. After 5 phone calls to the front desk and being told repeatedly that they were at full capacity so they couldn’t move our room, we checked out of the hotel. At 1am we arrived to our new location, where we had to pay $958 for our last two nights of vacation. We made multiple phone calls and emails to the General Manager of Coco Reef requesting that we be refunded for our stay with them. They removed a portion of the bill, but it ended up costing us more than our original bill due to the money we had to spend at the new hotel for the last two nights. Our 30th Anniversary trip was ruined. We ended up spending more money than we had planned, lost personal belongings, a leg injury, and horrible memories. We should have been reimbursed for the entire room charge. This horrendous vacation should not have ended up costing us more than originally planned. So disappointed in Coco Reef.

Sch a surprising place.

We were advised by a native to book here. It is a little quirky and funky, locally owned. We loved it! great bar, outside dining and within steps up the beach of several really good restaurants. I would recommend for couples, probably not family.
