Comfortable, convenient & helpful staff...

by Dearadhir

The experience in this hotel was a pleasant surprise....hassle-free check-in and check-out - no demand for credit card details - trust in customer - unlike some hotels I have been in....this is commendable! Staff helpful, if you ask something!
A couple of negative features of the room was the non-availability of power sockets near bed, only 2 near the table, if you heat water for tea/coffee, only one left! There’s just a kind of clothes rack, too narrow & squeezed to hang clothes!
Area had restaurants and bars nearby with Sainsbury’s! Lambeth North underground a few minutes walk just opposite the hotel and Waterloo station within walking distance. The best part was Westminster Bridge being nearby, the hub of activities.
I would definitely come back here when I come next to London!

Remembrance weekend stay

Our party of 40 has spent 4 nights here. The building is clean and comfortable, rooms on the small side but again clean and comfortable, well tended, brew kit in the room well replenished. Very comfortable bed, great bathroom with good shower etc. Free shower gel. The bar is well stocked and well priced during happy hour 5-8pm. Breakfast is good and plentiful. Very central for bus, train, tube and is in easy walking distance to many attractions. We had a group meal on Friday night which left a lot to be desired. One chef, two waiting staff who did their best but were overwhelmed. Our simple 3 course meal (with 2 months notice) was haphazard at best. 3 hours to complete service. Many had finished starters before others were even served, same with the main course. Most had ordered apple crumble for dessert. Big mistake. Tinned apples with a few crumbs thrown on top and it was awful, most people left it. Good place to lay your head though. Staff are friendly.
