We stayed at the deluxe apartments with our two children aged 1 and 3. We were looked after by Maria, Roman and Yulia. The service was faultless and we were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived. The apartment was immaculate. There were welcome gifts upon arrival, and the team unpacked all of our luggage. They arranged for stair gates to be fitted for our youngest, and they had toys in the apartment for the children. They ensured that all meals were prepared to order for the children and they would arrange for meals to be served at a location of our choice I.e. Children's pool, beach or beach pool side. They arranged all of our transfers for outings. Nothing was too much. It was our sons’ birthdays whilst there, and they arranged for balloons, a cake and outings to assist with the celebrations. We would highly recommend the deluxe apartments, and we cannot wait to return there again for our next family holiday. A big thank you to Maria, Roman and Yulia for making our holiday extra special and memorable.

Don Carlos is a luxurious resort. The interior is spacious and beautifully furnished. The pool areas are very clean and well looked after by staff, including the lifeguard. The gardens are beautiful and very well maintained. The breakfast room is a beautiful space, indoors and outdoors. Don’t know why it isn’t utilised at other times. The choice and quality at breakfast was excellent and the staff were brilliant. The bar food is served in another very clean and well maintained area, if a bit on the expensive side. The Peacock bar is very relaxing but a little boring. We never tried the evening dinner restaurant as there was nothing on the menu to suit us. Our room was a superior but was quite small. The bathroom was a bit of a squeeze. We cannot imagine what size of room/bathroom you get in standard accommodation!!!
At the end of the garden is the Nikki Beach Club, which was closed, but gave access to the beach.
A major complaint has to be the distance from Marbella. Not being familiar with the area, we thought we were close to Marbella. We were shocked to discover that a taxi to Marbella cost €20, so that’s €40 round trip for a night in the town.
