For some reason unknown to mankind this rundown hole got an “excellent” star on trivago- so we booked. Such a mistake! There is absolutely nothing to indicate that this is actually a hotel- you must find your own way up a very dirty elevator. There is no provision for coffee in the rooms and the lobby where the only boiling water is kept is locked until 7 in the morning. At 7:15several hotel guests were waiting for coffee. The room is rundown with old old furniture. Worst of all though was that we could not get the shower to work for 30 minutes and the office was closed by then. The emergency number did not work from our international phones and the telephone in the room was just there for show- the line dead. When we figured out the shower eventually no hot water would come through. Outside, the hotel spoiled the beautiful view with fake lawn. In the room parts of the ceiling fell on the carpet. Breakfast was bad. They did not even have jogurt which is standard. We tried to check out at 8:30 without any luck- the lady at reception was either not at work yet or missing in action. As the hotel put through an additional $100 deposit against my credit card I would have liked the opportunity to make sure this charge was reversed. (This was eventually done a day and a half later)All of this is such a pity as the hotel is located perfectly and has amazing views. But i would not have come here in a million years if i had known the state of the place. Gross
This was the 2nd time we stayed there. Very confusing signage on road says Dove Creek Lodge and near office MB Resort.. the property changed hands a couple years ago why have they not changed sign on road? Also they have next to nothing horrible furniture around pool area.. maybe pool would be used more if it was more attractive. The property has all sorts of junk lying around... we stayed in April and now September same junk lying around... We stayed 2 nites this time and one day they never cleaned our room and on checkout I mentioned it and they really didn’t care just said they’d notify housekeeping... The breakfast they offer is very very minimal... the breads were all stale... not sure we care to stay there anymore. If they cleaned it up it could be a cute boutique hotel..... Right now it looks like they are in financial trouble...
