Overview

Created in the early 1900s from scavenged materials and no blueprint, this historic register property appeals to families with its funky rough-hewn exterior, two pools, shuffleboard, picnic area, and casual accommodations with lots of personality. The rooms are a bit dated, but roomy with kitchen facilities. For extra space, book a cottage or two-bedroom villa.

Waldo’s restaurant serves oceanfront lunch and dinner, plus a number of restaurants lie within easy walking distance. The bar hosts live music many nights, which could be disturbing to early turn-ins.

Would come back!

Nothing to look at from the front but boy oh boy very impressive from the beach. Lots of character. So many possibilities in the Resort. Condo type rooms with the option to add more rooms and bathrooms to your stay with friends or families. Wonderful beachfront restaurant. Awesome servers.

Shabby Sheek at a Great Location

We were here in the "between season" (9/21/19 to 9/28/19) so there were no crowds at the resort, beach or around town; that was great. This is definitely not a posh resort. It is pretty basic, the 2 pools were not very big, but who wants a pool when you are right on the beach; and the beach was actually closer to us than the pools, anyway. We lucked out with a 2nd floor studio facing the ocean, the other units may not have been as satisfying they face the parking lot or street or other buildings
The staff was fine however what we were not told prior to our arrival was that the onsite restaurant, Waldo's, was closed for that week and there was a lot of construction going on at the resort; probably why we got such a good price on our unit. However, we are pretty easy going and the construction did not bother us-it was at the back of our bldg. The studio that we had was very basic and very dated, but it worked because we came for the beach and not the room.
We would definitely come here again at this time of year, no summer crowds and no snow birds.
