TripAdvisor Rating

Whether you’re visiting the University of Richmond or just want a well situated stay in the West End, the Embassy Suites all-suite hotel with its eight-level atrium is a solid choice.

Each suite has a separate living room, a pull-out sofa, a microwave, and a mini-fridge. Two flat-screens keep everyone in the family happy and the Wi-Fi is complimentary.

Embassy Suites’ complimentary breakfast is just as reliable as the spacious guest suites. The made-to-order breakfast includes hot entrees, an omelet bar, cereals, fruits, yogurts and so forth. A Manager’s Reception happens each evening with light appetizers and (generous) adult drinks for the parents and kid-drinks for the little guys. Young kids will love the indoor pool, but older kids will likely take one look and ask for something bigger. The property also has a fitness center and sauna.

Not the usual stay

by Dreamdaytripper

We visit the Richmond area often with our stay at the Embassy suites as our hotel of choice. Usually we enjoy the time spent at this establishment but not this time. We were unhappy with our room placement (on 1st floor near elevator). Too much noise and hallway traffic. Room had previous guest trash on floor near bed. Then to discover heat not working in the room on the coldest night in the area. Maintenance was slow to respond (after an hour). I went to the front desk. It is after 9 PM. It's too cold to undress for bed. Finally Keith shows up (room temp less than 50). He makes adjustments but still no warmth. We slept clothed with 3 blankets. Morning was no better. Complimentary made to order breakfast was less than appetizing. Complaints were met by staff excellently. They were solicitous and accommodating with each incidence. Human side of our stay rates a 20. The facility itself needs some more work. Hopefully this is just a flux. Improvements are on the way. Corporate did contact us.
