Our autumnal holiday at Equator Village

by Katarina H

We visited this hotel a second time and did not disappoint us again. Now we used the Colombo -Gan flight operated by Srilankan Airlines and avoided the crowded airport in Male.
The resort offers its guests everything they need for a pleasant stay. Over the last two years, there has been a renewed swimming pool and a terrace overlooking the sea. Everywhere is friendly atmosphere and nice hotel staff is always ready to make our holiday unforgettable.
Experienced resort manager M.Waheed guarantees very good services, which have been awarded several times. During our stay we focused mainly on snorkeling. We also had a positive change in the state of corals surrounding the resort.
The underwater world is gradually improving after the phase of massive coral bleaching.
We also traditionally used the All Inclusive offer at the resort and enjoyed friendly talking with the Staff of bar.
Thanks to all from Equator Village for a relaxing holiday.

Budget Friendly

by traceyc142

We have just left equator village resort after having a 5day break there. The main advantage of equator village for us was that we could fly to gan island direct from columbo which meant we did not need any further transfers after arriving. The cost for the all inclusive was also very reasonable and 'budget friendly' as it included excursions and activities which we galdly availed of. The rooms at equator village although cleaned daily were very basic and the a/c units could certainly do with updating/servicing as unless we used the ceiling fan also we did not find it very effective. Staff were very friendly amd attentive without beinf overbearing and always welcomed us to the restuarant/bar with a smile. Food at the buffet was tastey and of good quality but lacked variety with lunch and dinner, it would be nice if lunch consisted more of meats, breads, salads, dips, and perhaps even burger/sandwich/fries options. The manager was not very present in the resort in terms of interacting with guests to seek feedback etc, which we found quite unusual, as usually while travelling we would always have conversations with duty/general managers which is an effective way of providing feedback in the moment with opportunity for necessary actions to be taken at the time.
Overall we had a very relaxing and comfortable experience at equator village resort!
