This elegant southern California resort with spectacular grounds, well-appointed rooms and friendly service offers a comfortable and relaxed setting for a family stay in San Diego. Although the resort attracts many guests for its day spa and proximity to the world-class Torrey Pines Golf Course, families enjoy the nearby myriad of amusements in San Diego, including beautiful beaches, SeaWorld, Universal Studios, and the famous San Diego Zoo.
Standard rooms feature one king or two queen beds, or you can choose from a variety of suites. All rooms include complimentary bathrobes, an oversized safe, a coffee maker with private blend coffee, an iron and ironing board, a hair dryer, and a magnifying makeup mirror. Guests remark on the luxury linens and comfortable rooms.
Your daily resort fee covers many extra amenities including wireless Internet, morning coffee, a daily copy of USA Today and the local paper, toll free and local telephone calls, access to the fitness center, Voss water replenished daily and a signature margarita at Mustangs & Burros. Kids will enjoy splashing in the heated pool, and no worries if you’ve forgotten sunscreen, swim goggles or other pools items — they’re all available at the spa shop; mom and dad will enjoy a treatment at the full-service spa. For an added treat, reserve a private pool cabana before you arrive (they get booked quickly) and let the kids play a card game in the shade and enjoy the juices, fruit and snacks provided.
Although you won’t be within easy walking distance to restaurants off property, there are plenty of dining options right at the resort. Dine onsite either comfortably indoors or outside on the patio by a fire and enjoy foods with a decidedly southern California flair. Or for small bites and cocktails for parents, stop by Bodega Wine Bar; if you’re so inclined, don’t miss their innovative margaritas. Alternatively, drive about 10 minutes to area shopping and additional restaurant choices in La Jolla.
There is a fee for valet parking, but guests may opt to easily self-park for free.

We stayed at the Estancia when our daughter got married there 12 years ago. Last weekend we stayed again to celebrate our 50th anniversary. Every staff I interacted with was so friendly and helpful. The site is still amazingly beautiful.
Beautiful, spacious hotel on large property. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. The bed and linens were delightful. The bathroom had plenty of lighting and there was a spacious closet. The restaurant was lovely. I really liked the motif; casual and comfortable. I would go back again to enjoy the resort.
