Staff need some training

by Biyococo

I’m a loyal Marriott fan and I try to stay at a Marriott brand before stretching out to something else.
I’ve stayed at this hotel before, but this time, had a not so thrill check in experience. I’ve the platinum elite status and check in online 2 days before I arrive. My profile specifically stated high floor quiet room. Almost all brands always honor to give me the highest floor room.

I walked in the hotel and the woman at the front desk was on an personal call on her own cell phone with headphones on. Barely greeting me and still on her call, I told her my name and she couldn’t find any preset room keys for me, which again I had check in online 2 days ago. At that point she just made the key and randomly pick a room on the ground floor. I looked at the room number and told her I really prefer not to be on the ground floor, for which I have specially stated on my profile and had check in ahead of time. Long story short, she reluctantly change the room for me and continue back on her personal call.

There was another woman the next day who doesn’t seem to have the best altitude at the front desk either. A guy on one of the night was nice and handle my late check out request promptly.

The hotel itself is nice, I have no complain about the room and facilities.

If people don’t want to deal with the public, please don’t work at a customer service job. Effective management and good training make up a large part of it as well.

Very niece hotel with great location.

Hotel is above average. Staff was friendly and check in was very efficient. The room was very good. Hotel and room were clean and service by staff very good. Breakfast was good but area crowded. When one travels in Chattanooga try to avoid rush hour (I'm not sure when it begins or ends). Traffic is horrible and moves very slow, expect hours of delays on freeways which are very few (there is no other way to cross town) other than freeways.
