A nice Lodge rustic look close to restaurant and to other attractions ,it's warm and cozy but the bathroom is a little small, the breakfast was very tasty too and the management are very friendly and accomadating
My friend and I arrived in the lodge welcomed by John the host manning the lodge. He was very friendly, upbeat and positive and gave us such a warm welcome, we felt very much at home. I love the welcome drink - a sour plum drink and the cookies, the little touches that makes the difference.
He helped us to carry our luggage up the stairs as there is no lift. He told us about the surroundings, places to go trek and eat and where we could drive to and so on. His colleagues were equally friendly - Marialle (sounds like) and she gave us a list of places to visit on our second day, a rainy day.
The breakfast every morning was good - with a spread of bread, croissants, yogurt, fruits, eggs. It’s a small cosy setting and on two of the days, the fireplace was set up. You must see the photos to feel it.
The lodge is located in the centre of Stowe, and locations are accessible a short drive away by car.
In the evening, a campfire is set up and you can cosy under the stars. It’s a warm and friendly lodge.
We enjoyed our stay very much, with the little touches and decor. No wonder it has won quite a few awards!
