Charming Hotel-Great Location

by Bchbabee

Our stay at the Francis Marion was prompted by a family wedding in Charleston. We found this hotel to be elegant, charming and comfortable. We had a corner room that was small, but very cozy and had views that made the room bright and cheery. I can't say enough about the staff, pleasant, cheerful and very accommodating. The location is perfect, near lots of shops and the fantastic food Charleston is known for. A good walk to the Market area and waterfront, but there is so much to see on the way, you won't notice it. Only wish we could have stayed longer, but then there will be a future visit to Charleston and most definitely another stay at the Francis Marion.

Not Pleased

Location is good. So much for the positive....

Small rooms, minuscule bathrooms, noisy at times. Our room one night wasn't cleaned until the evening (and I had to call the desk) and we had to dress for dinner in a messy room. I would not stay there again.
