Overview

Opened in December 2014, this shiny boutique resort sits amid rampant vegetation with French-Caribbean style architecture. Its centerpiece infinity pool gives the illusion of dropping off into the sea. Two-bedroom villas with pullout and rollaway beds accommodate families, sleeping up to seven.

The resort, part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection, caters to families with kids’ menus in its 1648 Restaurant and, during busy family times, football and swimming competitions and bean bag games.

A beach attendant sets guests up on the beach, a short golf cart drive away, with chairs and food service. Golf cart use is included in the resort fee. French Leave, a tongue-in-cheek term for taking off without permission, can also provide snorkel gear, kayaks, and paddleboards.

An amazing week!

by Ryan H

My husband and I went in October for our anniversary for a week. The resort was near empty because of all the cancellations from the hurricane in the abacos. We were taken care of so well. Nigil, Denor and Jennifer in the main office. We met the general manager and front office manager on the last day. They wanted to make sure we had an amazing time and if they could improve on anything. Not a chance, everything was perfect! We got upgraded based on our Marriott Rewards status. Pool and beach concierge guys, Rudy, Chris and Jaced were there for every needs, every drink and whatever else we needed. Our housekeeping team of Latoya and Margaret. Lastly the restaurant. The food was delicious. All meals but lunch fish tacos and conch soup highly recommended. Dinner pastas and all grilled fish meals. Most important the head chef/F&B manager came to talk to us on our last dinner. We love to talk to people and I used to be in hospitality so we chatted about everything. Our server Trish is a must and bartender Anthony. Trish saved us a table and made our dinners enjoyable, special and memorable. We snorkeled on the Caribbean side took the gulf cart to the beach, walked to governor's harbor and Friday Fish Fry with the locals. Thank you to everyone for making our anniversary memorable

French Leave.....I Don’t Want To Leave!

by LSUGIRLNOLA

Very simply, this place is fine. There are only 22 villas, 1 restaurant, 2 oceans and relaxation for 24 hours. The villa was beautiful....design, comfort, just a perfect feeling. Since we were there mid-October, very few restaurants were open on the island. Every meal was fantastic at 1648. Delicious and filling, or if you wanted, lighter choices were available. A golf cart was provided, with an ice chest (complimentary water and ice daily), to go to French Leave beach on the Atlantic side. This pink sand beach is one of the best on Eleuthera. Beach chairs, umbrella and an attendant to take your order were there for you. But, the beach, with only very few people daily and the most beautiful, clear water....wow. Everyday was different....wild surf to calm conditions...walk the beach and enjoy. A top location for a dream vacation.
