This hotel and grounds are very well kept. The beds are soft and comfortable. They offer free breakfast and free appetizers from 5 to 7pm. The pool area is also well maintained. The rooms are quiet and there is a nice large kitchenette in the room.

We were in Phoenix for a 4 day stay and wanted a nicer resort experience. Sonesta Gainey Ranch was rated well so we booked it. Big mistake!
After check in and were greeted at our room by dirty towels on the floor outside our door. Once in our room it was clear that it hadn't been vacuumed. There was paper on the bathroom floor. The room was hot and the air conditioner was so loud that you couldn't hear the TV. The bathroom wall paper was peeling away from the walls around the shower and baseboards and the refrigerator was making the loud noise.
We called the front desk and were promised a different room within the hour. It never happened. 3 trips to the front desk with the promise of a different room but it never happened. The manager finally said there were no more rooms available so they would send a repair man. He never came and the front desk person didn't seem to care. We were stuck with it.
Over the course of our 4-day stay the hallway carpets were never vacuumed and the facility was not clean. The elevators were filthy. We didn't eat the free breakfast at the resort for this reason. DON'T STAY AT THIS FACILITY! There are much cleaner, nicer, more accommodating places to stay in the Scottsdale/Phoenix area.
