In New York, it’s all about location, and Grand Hyatt has it. When seeking out a Manhattan hotel, you won’t be disappointed with the Grand Hyatt.
Perhaps you have stepped right off a train in Grand Central Station and entered the massive lobby of the Grand Hyatt. Perhaps you have been delivered via taxi or even driven yourself in and deposited your car with the valet. No matter the arrival, you’ll immediately feel the pulse of the city in a whirlwind of people, colors and sounds.
Once you step into an elevator that whisks you to one of the 1,306 guestrooms and suites inside the modern hotel, silence envelops you and you feel as if you have disappeared into a serene space. Rooms are spacious, comfortable, relaxing and contemporary, but you’re in New York and will undoubtedly want to head back out and explore the surroundings. Situated in Midtown at Grand Central Station, the Grand Hyatt is within walking distance of the city’s biggest attractions: Central Park, Times Square, Broadway and Fifth Avenue, to name a few. Even with all to see and do in the city, the hotel’s Grand Club, located on the 16th floor, features a relaxing living area and large rooftop living space, where kids can safely play while parents can sit back and relax between excursions.

Room in poor condition, not properly maintained. Run down, dated furnishings. Wood and paint chipping off walls and doors. Coffee maker was not working. Room safe was not working. Very disappointed as I expected a much better experience from a Grand Hyatt.

This was more or less an awful experience. When we arrived to the room, bathroom had hairs in the tub and toilet upon arrival, along with missing towels and toiletry. For $350 a night that was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. To top it off, they require payment to hold your luggage.....Since when do hotels charge to bag check?
Like most hotels in New York, the Grand Hyatt does not offer family activities within the hotel. However, the hotel is close to Central Park, city museums, Times Square, Broadway and Fifth Avenue shopping, so there is always something to do when staying here.
While you'll never tire of the city's activities and attractions, take time to relax and rejuvenate at the hotel. Guests who have booked a Grand Club level room will enjoy its Grand Club, providing a living area and drinks and snacks where families can plan their itineraries, catch up on news, or just chat with other guests. Families visiting during warmer weather will especially enjoy spending time on the expansive balcony, where children can play and mom and dad can enjoy a glass of wine as the sun sets over Manhattan, the reflection of the Chrysler Building bouncing off mirrored skyscraper windows.
The hotel also offers many travel packages throughout the year, such as the American Girl Package. Your daughter can bring her American Girl doll and receive a welcome letter, a bed specially for her doll, milk and cookies, and a gift card to American Girl Place to pick up a little something new. Or try the Explore package, which includes tickets to the Museum of Natural History, full breakfast, and a late checkout for more time in the city.
New York Central
Although New York is filled with so many restaurants you could live there and still not try every restaurant in a year, save at least one meal for the hotel's New York Central full-service restaurant, located on the hotel's mezzanine. The menu is limited to a few starters, salads and entrees, but as one would expect in New York, the selection is diverse and delicious. The Artisan Platter of cheese and charcuterie and the Rocky Mountain Rack of Lamb were highly recommended.
You'll be able to enjoy drinks at your table, but if you'd like to go just to grab a drink before heading out for the evening, a self-service Wine Gallery works on the honor system.
For kids, a children's menu promotes healthy eating with fruit and veggie-inspired games and healthy meal options, like Sunbutter, Jelly and Banana Sandwich, Build Your Own Sub Sandwich, Shaken Chopped Salad, and Haile's Recipe Salmon Teriyaki. Breakfast items include smoothies, and egg-filled tortilla tacos. Milk refills are - YES! free, and kids are half off adult menus. An organic menu is also available, featuring a salad, grilled chicken dish, and fruit.
Market and In-Room Dining
If you just need to grab a snack or breakfast on the go, the lobby Market is the hotel's grab-and-go shop. The 24-hour market offers options for breakfast, lunch and dinner that you can bring back to your room. In-room dining is also available daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., serving dishes found at New York Central.
Grand Club Lounge
Guests who select the Grand Club rooms have access to the Grand Club Lounge on the 16th floor, which features complimentary breakfast, afternoon teas and finger foods, and snacks and beverages. An honor bar is available for adult drinks. The club features a rooftop garden.
