- Six outdoor pools and one indoor pool
- Game room, tennis courts, putting green and basketball court
- Spacious accommodations with comforts of home
We stayed in building 4 on the 4th floor.
-There was a TON of maintenance going on, including around the indoor pool. This was our back up plan in case it was too cold/bad weather. It was only open 5 - 11 pm and it was naturally insane when we did go, but thankfully our child didn't care and had fun anyway. If you go anytime soon, CHECK about what they are working on!!! Do not be afraid to pressure for details. We thought the only repairs were being done around the roof/sauna of the indoor pool, but they were working on other outdoor bathrooms and pools too.
-A small outdoor pool was supposed to be heated during our stay, but only was getting heated the last day we were there. It was chilly but again, our child still had fun the one time we swam in it.
-There's up to 5 buildings and there are 2 indoor pools on this property...I found this out the last day we were there about the other indoor pool, but I think it's associated with another property. ASK if you go!
-The condo we stayed in was VERY dated and old. Could have definitely had new paint, new A/C unit, fixtures, ceiling tiles, decor, furniture, etc. I looked under the bathroom cabinets and a cut out was in wall under one sink EEEEK.
-I think the biggest con was b/c these units are so old that none of them had a washer/dryer hook up. Yes, we still hung our towels on the balcony but it would have been nice to pop them in the dryer to get rid of the smell. Not having the "just in case" of a washer/dryer in the condo made me very uncomfortable, but all was ok on our trip. Worst case scenario, we would have had to use the property washers/dryers and it never came to that thankfully.
-The beds were horrible. Ask your property manager/owner details about the beds and plan accordingly. Even if you have to travel with extra pillows to sleep on. Or a memory foam topper LOL.
Now the PROS, as I want to end on a good note!
-Despite the unexpected maintenance, the owner was extremely nice and accommodating to us; they offered to refund if we decided not to go 4 days before we planned. We couldn't find anything in our price range and forged through. It was great having a nice owner to be able to contact easily and work with us. We asked for a discount and we got a little money back b/c of all the maintenance.
-Thankfully, the condo was VERY clean. I really liked that and this cleaning company deserves a gold star!
-Great Wifi. We were able to hook up our Roku and watch Netflix with no problems in the evenings.
-Obviously, having a more secluded beach even with a ton of people here off for Spring Break was the best part. We didn't have to walk for miles to get a spot since this beach is "off the beaten path" away from a lot of Gulf Shores traffic.
-The beach and weather, except for one rainy day, was chilly but beautiful and sunny. Our child LOVED it and we did too. I'm really glad we got to go!!!
We stayed at Gulf Shores Plantation Dunes #5715. The condo was perfect for our family. Updated and very clean it had everything we needed along with the resort had full amenities. We will definitely be back again.
