Located near the highway, the Wallace Inn is close to Vermilionville Historic Village, Zoo of Acadiana, downtown, cultural and historic attractions, the cinema, shopping, dining, and is a short drive to Avery Island & Jungle Gardens and Acadian Village and Atchafalaya Experience Swamp Tours. The hotel has free Wi-Fi, an outdoor pool, and Monday through Wednesday an evening reception with appetizers and beverages. Free breakfast includes eggs, breakfast meats, waffles, pastries, cereals, fruit, and juices.

For accommodations, families will like the king rooms with sofa sleepers, the double queen rooms, and the king studio suites with sofa sleepers and wet bars. All rooms have refrigerators and microwaves.

Pros and cons

Pros: Friendly desk help. Nice décor, clean. Very cozy comforters on the beds. Quiet, despite being near busy highway.
Cons: room a bit small, no easy chair. Desk chair has broken rollers. Normal internet log on did not work, desk clerk had to give me a special code. Parking lot had 5 light poles out, hard to find entry driveway in the dark. Nice breakfast but toaster didn’t work, coffee not hot.

Consistent

I prefer this hotel in the area for business because the service, quality and rooms are consistent. I'm not a fan of Hampton in general and usually find their rooms are outdated and not well kept. This one is relatively new and doesn't require much. The cleaning even at this at times is hit or miss. Breakfast is continental so prepare for it.
