Looking to show the family the nation’s tallest national landmark? Stay at the Hampton Inn St. Louis Downtown at Gateway Arch and see the St. Louis Arch in person. Built in the early 1960s, this colossal structure has lured many tourists to marvel at its ingenuity and beauty. You can even ride a tram inside the arch for a full 360-degree view of downtown St. Louis. This hotel is right across the street from the Cardinal’s Busch Stadium, where you can take the whole family to the game without worrying about parking. And the nearby Mississippi River has lots of attractions, water sports and walkways to stroll. The hotel itself is comfortable and clean, with all the amenities Hampton Inn fans expect and love, such as a free buffet breakfast and free Wi-Fi. There’s an onsite fitness center here, as well as a coin laundry room. Rooms come with queen or king beds and mini-fridges. It’s an easy spot to settle in and stay a while.

The staff here will do all they can to make your stay nice. Easy access to the Dome as it’s within walking distance. Many good food establishments nearby. This is our 2nd year staying here, and we plan to stay next year!
This hotel is easy walking distance to St. Louis’ Gateway Arch, but that is the only thing that recommends it. The hotel is quite rundown and our room had a strange smell. The guest chair was filthy and there was mildew in the bathroom. The hotel relocated us once but the second room was no better than the first. The lobby looked to have been refurbished in recent years but the rest of the hotel is in need of a major renovation and modernization. While the facility is lacking, the staff is not. Each employee we encountered was friendly and helpful.
