The Hampton Inn Virginia Beach is a slice of beach utopia. Each room, directly facing the beach, enjoys it’s own private balcony letting you drift off to the lyrics of the waves. Located directly on the beach, you’ll love the close proximity to the boardwalk where you can find outdoor concerts, ride bikes, play in the surf or shop at the upscale stores and souvenir shops.
The Hampton has a nicely set up fitness room with state-of-the-art equipment facing the ocean views. The 24-hour indoor pool and hot tub are both large and beautiful.
Each room has a microwave and refrigerator. The de rigueur (these days) large flatscreen television proudly sits in the center of the room. Internet access is free. And the extra roomy bathroom is sweet comfort at the end of a long beach day. The complimentary breakfast provides generous-sized portions of waffles, eggs, bacon, bagels, coffee and more.
The Timbuktu restaurant is also on site at the Hampton Inn and receives endless raves for it’s fresh seafood, huge rack of full ribs, steaks, lobster, pizza and pasta. Kids are very welcome and a children’s menu is on-hand. Sit outside on the patio for a gorgeous ocean view or indoors to the modern, dark wood decor. Live entertainment in the bar Thursday through Sunday. Restaurant is open six days a week for both lunch and dinner: Monday through Saturday. Speaking of lunch — the menu is a hoot with $1 All-Beef Hot Dogs (add $2 if you want fries).

I have been to Virginia Beach several times but stayed in a less expensive hotel. This time I chose the Hampton Inn because I have had great experience with the brand in other locations. The hotel rooms were older and run down. The cleaning staff was horrible. They neglected to clean the room on two days of our stay. The first time instead of leaving clean towels they hung up dirty towels that were on the floor. I called the front desk they did bring up clean towels. Two days later they neglected to clean the room. I told the front desk she said I will look into it. When we arrived back at the hotel the room was still not clean. I went back to the front desk and they tried to rectify the problem by discounting two nights and bringing clean towels. I paid more money to stay at the Hampton and really expected more. We were very disappointed and will not return to that hotel. On a positive note the location was great and the breakfast was good. Miss Linda always made you feel welcome. The front desk staff could be friendlier and act like they really want to help you. The Wifi was also terrible you had to pay for premium which seems ridiculous.
First time at this location. Very convenient to everything! Trolley out front, beautiful ocean views from the balcony. Hotel staff was very polite. Morning breakfast was entertaining with “Miss Linda”. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Only complaint is that our dinner the first night, at the hotel bar/restaurant was awful. We were very disappointed. However, there are a ton of places to eat nearby. We will stay here again...
