Overview

Hannah’s B&B is a charming house in a quiet neighborhood above downtown Sitka. One of the available rooms is perfect for a family of six, with queen, full, and twin beds, plus room for a rollaway. This spacious room has a private entry and a separate dining room with microwave, refrigerator and coffeemaker. Your host stocks the fridge with a continental breakfast of pastries, fruit and juice that you can eat at your leisure each morning. There are so many nice touches, like the rocking chair and the colorful watercolor art, that your family will feel right at home. There is no TV or Wi-Fi, however.

The B&B is less than a half-mile from the waterfront. It’s a short walk along residential streets to a wide variety of shops and restaurants in the downtown area. Family-friendly attractions, such as the Alaska Raptor Center and the Sitka National Historic Park, are also close. A few miles further east of downtown is the popular Fortress of the Bear, an educational bear rescue center. Hannah’s B&B, along with her beautiful garden, is surrounded by several homes that have not been well kept up, which only makes it shine like a beacon of comfort. It’s a safe neighborhood, though, and convenient to downtown Sitka, making it a good choice for your Alaskan family vacation.

Quiet but could improve breakfast

by lindamarie1959

Ok place. Quiet and pretty close to town. We knew it was self service breakfast but no fruit just a yogurt and average store bought muffin or pastry. Fruit and better muffins would be nice for a B&B. Hard to find if you were on your own.

Good Location

Hannah's is a ten minute walk from the main part of town and breakfast, left in your room the night before, is simple, but enough to get you going.
However, be prepared to be thrown back to the early 1990s once you step in the door, from the decor to the lack of Internet to payment by check or cash. The mattress and bedding have some years on them as well and could use some refreshing. The Forget-me-not room is spacious and coffee/tea is available in the room. Bring your own toiletries, specifically anything used in the shower.
Sandy, the owner, is very friendly and a talented artist, having made the furniture in the room.
