3 sets of my family members stayed at the Heliotrope July 4th weekend and loved it. I stayed here before and recommended it to my family since my son who lives in Bellingham was hosting the 4th of July this year and we needed to find accommodations. Because of booking issues and it being such a busy weekend, my reservation and my daughters reservation were booked wrong and someone gave our rooms to other guests. When the manager, Jaimie found out what happened, he called me right away and apologized for the staff error. He got me, my husband, my daughter and her family 2 very nice rooms at another place about a mile away and paid for everything. Of course I would have rather been with my other family members at the wonderful Heliotrope but we were grateful for the customer service Jaimie provided and taking care of the issue right away. We will definitely try to stay there again in the future.
Clean, modern reno's to a vintage motel with concrete walls. Comfy bed with a duvet. Bluetooth speaker on the night stand. Outside, the courtyard has a firepit. Complimentary hot chocolate was offered to us on a brisk spring night by the super kind front desk clerk, Emma, who even brought us extra logs for the fire. My 8-year-old son and I had so much fun, we didn't want to leave.
In the room's mini fridge was an empty loaner growler just waiting for a tour to one of the "19 local breweries", wow. This gave me an idea for a future parent getaway with friends and bikes.
