High Point World Resort, located in Kissimmee, Fla., is an excellent option for families who are looking for a more homey place to stay while exploring Disney. If you’re looking for a sterile-as-a-doctors-office, daily-generic-continental-breakfast-type of resort, this is not the place for you! But if you’re looking to know what it means to feel home away from home, this is your huckleberry!
The High Point World Resort is a quiet, clean and family-friendly 108-room resort, located just one mile away from Walt Disney World Vacation Kingdom. The luxurious accommodations include one-bed, one-bath villas and two-bed, three-bath townhouses. Each room includes a master king bed, twin beds, cable TV, and a ceiling fan. Other options include a full kitchen, an in-room breakfast bar with stools, a queen sofa and screen porches.
When not creating magic at Disney, you can hang out at the resort and enjoy it’s lighted tennis court, gas barbecue and picnic areas, whirl pool, children’s playground, video library, game room and heated saltwater swimming pool!

Booked through Interval on a guest certificate week. Best things about this resort: the staff is very friendly and helpful, the units are clean, and the location is great. Close to Disney and quiet. There seemed to be more snowbirds staying on the property than younger families with kids. This is great for people like my husband and I who love the peace and quiet. The kitchen in the units are well stocked with dishes and have a dishwasher.
However there are some downsides to the resort as compared to other interval resorts. There aren't any restaurants or bars on the property, no washer/drying in unit, the pool is nice, but not heated so it's pretty cold, and there aren't any bottles of shampoo, conditioner, or hand lotion in the units. The soap is a cheap generic brand without much scent. The units seem to be older and could probably stand to be remodeled to look more modern. Also there isn't a patio area attached to all units. Also, I was very disappointed to learn that there is no fitness center on the property.
There are no gyms or poke stops on the property for people that play Pokemon Go. However, there are some along highway 192. There are sidewalks and cross walks for pedestrians and bike lanes for cyclists. Lots of businesses and restaurants close by. Even the Formosa Winery is a short drive. No nature trails on property. No bird feeders or bird baths. Wildlife observed on the property include Great Southern White, Great Crested Flycatcher, Carolina Wren, Northern Mockingbird, Brown Thrasher, Cedar Waxwing, Gray Catbird, American Robin, American Crow, Ring-billed Gull, Northern Cardinal, Downy Woodpecker, Common Grackle, Blue-headed Vireo, Gray Squirrel, Cuban Brown Anole, and Grapevine Beetle.
Resort is in good location at one end of the busy highway. Food, shopping is walking distance. Access to major highway is also very close. Although the resport is in a busy location, it is still secluded enough to have privacy. Pool and hot tub were well kept. Resort is a bit dated but everything is still functional. We will go back and stay there again.
