Overview

About 20 minutes from Southwest Florida International Airport and right off Interstate 75, the Hilton Garden Inn Fort Myers is a good spot for a family stay when you’re roadtripping through Florida. Pets are welcome here, too, and there are grassy areas just outside the hotel to take your pet for a walk. The hotel’s heated outdoor is a favorite with kids. And the onsite restaurant, Garden Grille, is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a typical American menu of burgers, salads, sandwiches and the like. Rooms and suites have a microwave, mini-fridge and coffee making facilities. Cribs and highchairs are available on request, but you’re best off requesting them in advance.

Black MOLD in Room 306

by MamaB5

Checked into room 306 on 10/31/19 for a 2 night stay, didn’t sleep well first night due to itchy nose. Got up with slightly puffy eyes and nose still itching. Was working in room most of the day then when I looked up I noticed black mold on vent and wall above vent. Thankfully, hotel wasn’t full so we were able to move to a smaller but mold free room.

The AC unit in 311 rattles pretty loudly when it kicks on but we use a noise maker so we are surviving (checking out tomorrow). Praying for better sleep since we have a long drive home.

Meanwhile, haven’t heard from a manager. You would think with black mold in the room they would contact you.
I had even called on 10/30 to ask which room was best due to allergies. Rachel who answered the phone checked with her supervisor and they recommended room 306 since AC was newer.

Side note, the shower curtain in 306 also had mildew but forgot to take a pic.
