Located just six miles from Fort Belvoir, Washington D.C. is also situated just across the Potomac River. The Ronald Reagan National Airport is also only about six miles away from this hotel. The hotel offers a free shuttle to the Huntington Metro station and Old Town Alexandria as well so there’s plenty of ways to explore. The guestrooms and suites feature a king or two queen beds, a mini-fridge, coffee maker and flat screen television. Cribs, rollaway beds and connecting rooms are available upon request. Complimentary Wi-Fi access can be found throughout the hotel so there is never a concern for kids or adults about staying connected to work, home and school. Families will love to kick start each morning with the free hot breakfast buffet where they will find items like scrambled eggs, hot and cold cereal, juices, muffins and more. The fitness center with its cardio and weight machines is a great spot for those who are seeking to stay on top of workout routines while traveling.

We booked this property for a one night stay through booking.com. we had the confirmation # and everything we needed for our stay, or so we thought. The hotel did not receive the information from booking.com but honored our pricing anyway with a free upgrade for our inconvenience. We were finally able to cancel the booking.com reservation after being on hold for 30 minutes. Holiday Inn Express is awesome! Booking.com is horrible. Please do not use them!
This is a nice hotel to stay for your DC trips without breaking your pocket only if you have your personal transport (i.e. own car). This location offers wonderful free transfers to the metro, however if you are taking that you must keep minimum 45~60 mins to any location in DC. The property offers large and clean rooms, which are decently furnished. They provided free tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Spacious and well stocked bathrooms. Complimentary Breakfast is not grand but decent enough and comes super handy, especially if you have an early start to the day.
Staff at the property are a mix bag, you will some of the nicest people in the hospitality industry, & will also come across highly non-cooperative, & extremely rude staff members at this property. This is not a motel, yet you might get a similar vibe with the type of people staying there.
Positives of staying: Large Free Parking, Free Breakfast, Spacious Rooms, Free Shuttle to Closest Metro & Old Town Alexandria.
Negatives of staying: Additional travel time to DC if you dont have own transport. Not at walkable distance to any place.
