Not ready for guests

My husband and I stayed here for 7 nights, November 3-10. Awful! No where when booking was it mentioned that it is going through a complete renovation. The advertised restaurant was not open, there was no place to even lounge because the furniture is still covered in plastic. Fire alarm testing was going on every 3 minutes for 4 hours one day. The pancake maker makes raw pancakes and the only syrup is artificial. The egg omelets have been sitting under the warmer since 6:00am so if you get up at 8:00 they are all dried out. The coffee I think was also made at 6:00am and luke warm at best by 8:00am. The kitchen attendant does not wear gloves and is picking his teeth and playing with his hair. He has no idea how to follow a germ trail. Our floors has had construction debris the whole time under the bed and it was not mopped once. The k cups were replaced once.
Maybe in a couple of months they may have their act together but for$125 per night there are better hotels nearby.

Not the quality we expect from Holiday Inn Express

by Kthewli

We stayed on 10/29/19. It was pricier and out of our way than other hotels, but we chose it because we’ve never had a bad experience with Holiday Inn Expresses. Till now. My 1 year old picked up someone else’s makeup brush from the floor. The shower was broken and required maintenance to come fix it. The toilet paper holder was barely hanging on to the wall. Th bed was on exposed plywood. The towels had stains and someone else’s hair. It seemed like the lotion had been used already because there was barely anything in there when I tried to use it. We requested a crib and didn’t get it for hours. We had to ask for the crib 3 times and finally the front desk guy brought it to us himself. We asked it they had any milk for our toddler, and at first they said yes, but they couldn’t find anything but expired milk in the breakfast bar fridge. After that we decided not to even risk the free breakfast in the morning that we were counting on. There was massive construction going on and the front desk guy said they would no longer be a Holiday Inn Express in 1 week. I wish they had closed during this time of transition! This stay wasn’t terrible but it certainly wasn’t of the quality we have come to expect from Holiday Inns.

On a positive note, the front desk guy’s name was Chris and he was great. He did all he could to make our stay as nice as possible, but he had limited to work with.
