My family and I often stay at Holiday Inn Express establishments while traveling bc we love the quality. This particular stay was less than satisfactory. The staff was friendly and helpful. But that’s where the pleasantries and comfort end. We stayed in room 107 where we were pleasantly greeted by a roach within 10 minutes of bringing in our bags. While looking for the roach after it ran behind the bed, we found a couple of more dead roaches. It clearly hasn’t been cleaned back there in a long time. There were also dead bugs under the air conditioning unit. There was some mold looking stain on the ceiling corner of the shower as well. We talked to the front desk and they promptly moved us rooms. They were very helpful there. Front desk was more than happy to help.
We checked the second room right away (111 I believe) and there was an old, used bandaid behind one of the beds, old candy under the night stand and random kids toys under the ac unit. At this point it was very late. We were exhausted and had been on the road for 10 hours. We had to sleep and couldn’t keep our 3 children up any longer. So it was roach room or nasty band aid under the bed room. We opted for nasty band aid room, slept and got the heck out of there. Oh and also, staff smoking right at the entrance was off putting. Won’t be back to this one. Cleaning staff needs retraining. Front desk staff is super nice and helpful.
