This was my 3rd visit ARUBA and once again, the island does NOT disappoint. This was our first stay at Holiday Inn and was very impressed staff, food and the gorgeous long stretch of beach. My Best friend and I stayed at the Occidental (now Barcelo) in 2014 and the Hilton 2017. Both were nice, but this hotel was the best! I booked an Ocean Front room and when we arrived it was on the 2nd floor overlooking PALAPAS! so, immediately I called the front desk, and Francesca offered an alternative, which was an ocean view room in the Ocean Tower and it was perfect. To the right of the balcony you do look over a roof, but to the left is a gorgeous view of the ocean and pool. We actually saved almost $300 so it was a win win. If you get ocean front get a higher floor, much better views. Martin was kind enough to show us the room before we committed, and then we were set. I was impressed with the customer service they provided! Another manager that was helpful was Marie, she assisted in the complimentary palapa that IHG members are entitled too. She was lovely. If you become an IHG member, you receive a card that offers 15% off food and beverages, which was a nice perk. The lobby was open and breezy,
The room was spacious and clean. Bed was super comfy and the pillows were amazing. I requested feather pillow and was delivered instantly. We also ordered room service, and was delivered in a timely fashion and was tasty. We had complimentary breakfast with our reservation and it was very filing and delicious. It was open from 7-11, which was great if we slept in a little. We would eat around 10 and there was plenty of fresh food available. The variety was impressive and one empty was replenished quickly!! Waffles, french toast, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, bacon, sausage the WORKS! Healthy choices there as well. The most AMAZING guava smoothie too! Fresh fruit, you name it. Juice variety was like what you see on a cruise ship!I have stayed in many hotels, and this was by far one of the best breakfast buffets, ever!! The food at the restaurant by the beach and pool was delish as well. There is a small shop that sells liquor, snacks etc. which came in handy when you want a quick snack to bring on the beach.
I was really impressed by the how long the beach was for the hotel guests, you didn't feel packed like sardines in the water, plenty of room to swim around without bumping into anyone.. The water was so aqua and when the sun hits it a certain way, it looks florescent aqua.. absolutely gorgeous! The pool was awesome, warm and refreshing. Lots of families and kids hanging poolside. I didn't pay for a palapa, because there is a large free one that I would escape to on the beach and by the pool, when it was too hot. Palapa's are nice, but I would rather use that $$ towards food or drink. hahah
The coffee shop there is only 1 person serving you, so the line can get LONG. From what I saw, the all inclusive guests would get gelato and coffee too, so it gets busy!!! Maybe add another staff member to assist, to move the line along.. Coffee was delish.
The rooms need Updated lamps and alarm clocks to include USB ports, many hotels offer those convenient charging stations and areas. Which is a priority to many...
Maybe add a Keurig to the rooms. for us coffee nuts! the regular pot is available, but not as convenient as a singe serve machine.
All in all I had a great time and will be back in 2021. Thank you for making my vacation an incredible one!
We stayed 5 nights for our anniversary in the SEA tower. Never had a problem with the elevator or the hallway smell. Our room was always cleaned an fresh towels delivered daily. I love a piping hot shower and they delivery every morning never had to wait for hot water and I can really appreciate that. We did not care about a room with a great view because we did not come to Aruba to stay in the room. Plus the real view is steps away on the beach! ALL OF OUR FOOD WAS AMAZING! We stuck to sea breeze for lunch and dinner and corals for breakfast. NEVER experienced long wait times for food. The ARUBARITA was soooo good also the creme brulee brownie was heaven sent we had 1 or 2 every night!! Most of the staff was very pleasant never rude of course there are some people who are inherently nicer than others that it’s just life! I would absolutely recommed this hotel and we plan to come back. We told them it was our anniversary and got a complimentary bottle of champagne delivered to our room.
