Timeless Hotel in Vigan

by stephnavarra

We came from Manila and had an 11-hour bus ride. We had an overnight stay last October 19, 2019 before going to Pagudpud. We stayed in room 216, a Deluxe King if I'm not mistaken. This trip was for the celebration of my boyfriend's birthday. He haven't been to Vigan and I only want him to experience the best things Vigan can offer. Since Hotel Luna is the #1 hotel, I opted to try this hotel hoping that it live up to the expectation.

We arrived around 8:00AM in Vigan. We are well aware that check-in time is 2:00 PM. We went to the hotel around 12:00 PM. We left our things since the room is not yet ready. We are more than willing to pay for additional fee just to have an early check-in since we were exhausted from the trip. They let us checked-in a few minutes before 2:00 PM. The hotel was easy to find since it is across the famous Calle Crisologo. There are halloween decors since that time of the year is approaching. To be honest, it creeps me out a little. Upon entering, you can already see the art pieces surrounding you.

I called last September 15, 2019 requesting for a birthday set-up. They sent me a couple of photos for reference. I made a deposit for the surprise and indicated that if they will be needing more they can inform me. I'm not really sure what to expect, however, when we opened the room, there it was, the surprise. At this point, I don't care if the set-up was not what I have expected. He was happy and that's all that matters. I only gave them his name but they put "Happy Birthday, GREG! I love you! - Steph" It was a really nice touch.

One of the things that impressed us the most is their toilet. We didn't expect the toilet to be automatic given that the hotel is located in a Spanish era like location. The bath and the toilet is separated by a sink with mirror. The sink has a crack but we don't mind it that much. Some lamps are crooked but it only adds to the nostalgic feeling.

Maybe it's just our exhaustion but we really felt energized upon waking up. The sheets, pillows, comforter, and ambiance are in perfect balance to create a perfect slumber.

We haven't had the chance to dip in the pool. Since it was closed when we woke up and we have to leave early since we have a Vigan-Pagudpud tour. For our future stay, I will make sure to dive in.

I also want to comment the breakfast. There are a lot of choices. The egg station was located outside. I want to commend their F&B employees for being attentive to their guests. There was one employee I really want to thank. He doesn't have a nameplate so I didn't get his name. He was tall and wearing all black.

Until our next stay. Thank you, Hotel Luna! You gave us a very special stay.

Just a block away from Calle Crisologo

A bit pricey but conveniently located to everything. Food was good. Staffs were nice and courteous. Nice museum on the 2nd Floor. Amazingly preserved century old house converted to hotel. I would come back.
