Great stay and great price

by WorldTraveler33900

Our go to hotel when visiting Mystic. Always a great experience with friendly staff and nice accommodations. Indoor pool is great during the cold months and do love the fresh baked cookies when we return in the afternoon. Comfortable rooms and get location for walking to shopping, restaurants and attractions.

Howard Johnson's is a great place to stay in Mystic CT. The location is just off the highway and easy to find, yet it is within easy walking distance to the Aquarium, Mystic Seaport, downtown, and Olde Mystic Village shops. The hotel was recently renovated with mid century style furniture and colors, but everything is new and spotless. My room with two queen beds was spacious, and included two sinks, a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and iron, and, of course, a big TV. There is a lovely lounge with coffee and tea always available and cookies at 4:00 PM in case you need a lift. Check in and out was quick and friendly, as was making the initial reservation over the phone. I will definitely stay at HoJo's the next time I am in town. I loved the next door Mystic Diner too, which has a varied menu and, unexpectedly, includes some Greek offerings. There are several other restaurants and coffee shops close by, and a movie theater a block away.
