I’ve stayed at the Hyatt Centric Times Square many times because I enjoy the look and feel of the property. However my last two visits to this hotel have been less than ideal because of a receptionist by the name of DeDe. Being in the service industry myself, I know how taxing and exhausting dealing with customers can be, however when you are the front desk person for a major 4-5 star Hotel Chain you must give customers the service they are paying for. In my first encounter with DeDe, I gave her behavior a pass as we all have bad days, and I assumed this was hers. Fast forward to yesterday, when upon checking in to my room, I was told that because the hotel was sold out I would have to wait 30-40 minutes for my room, which was completely okay with me, but before I could say anything she aggressively stated “you can cancel if you want.” I was taken aback and I said that I would prefer not to. Her demeanor is unapproachable and puts customers on the defensive. As I am in the service industry myself I NEVER complain to management or even write reviews because I understand customer focused service is difficult. HOWEVER, I spoke to a manager about DeDe because customers are paying too much money to have to deal with her attitude and unprofessionalism.
Right in the middle of Times Square so very convenient for theater goers. The maid did a good job every day. The bathrooms are awesome for NYC. Big and modern with lots of counter space which is truly rare.
