Unfriendly staff and tired rooms

by gazborangers

I stayed at the Imperial Hotel for six nights during the Rugby World Cup.

On check in I was told a king size room wasn't available despite booking that particular room some six months previously. I said this wasn't acceptable so the receptionist had a look again. Surprise surprise he found one but wanted to charge me an extra £70 per night. Again I said this wasn't acceptable and he went to speak top a manager that was in some other office. Eventually he came back and had found a room. 26th floor.

The room looked tired, the decor was completely dated, the bed was uncomfortable

Excellence in Tokyo

by Stephen B

We spent several nights in the hotel as a family of five. The hotel was excellent in all respects, good food, good rooms and friendly and attentive staff. What really made the difference is that we had a medical emergency during our stay, which I should add was nothing to do with the hotel, but the senior managers were very supportive and did everything possible to assist us. I cannot praise them highly enough for their help.

The location is in central Tokyo close to the palace and the shopping centre. Convenient for all amenities.

We definitely hope to return.
