Overview

Open from May through October, JuneBug Retro Resort is just 12 minutes from Asheville (they’ve measured) and serves as a unique way to visit this North Carolina hot spot. A collection of restored 1950s and ’60s camping trailers sits on the 50-acre site, with several options that sleep four to five people. There are no TVs or Wi-Fi here, but you can get cell service if you absolutely can’t disconnect. And you won’t totally be roughing it, since all trailers come with linens, fridges, microwaves, and at least a half bath. (There’s also a luxe bathhouse with shower facilities for guests onsite.)

The resort’s acreage includes hiking trails, a creek that kids love playing in, and a working organic farm. It’s available for vacation rentals during the week and on weekends when there’s not a wedding booked.

Glamping at it's best!

by littlesu

Absolutely loved our stay at Junebug resort. Trailers are lovingly restored for your comfort. Beautiful setting and Charlene could have not been nicer. Take a couple of days to relax and enjoy the convenience of glamping. You won’t regret it!

Cute and funky and clean -- different!

by Carl F

The owners have put a lot into making this place unique and funky. It is a hybrid between camping and motelling. The grounds are beautiful; situated in a scenic area but close to Asheville and its artsy attractions, The perfectly restored trailers range from tiny to large, but make no mistake - they are the real thing: camping trailers from the 50s, and as such are small inside. We are three rather bulky older adults, and found that putting the sheets on the beds and sleeping on vinyl mattresses that were pieced together was not restful for us. If you are younger and lighter, you will love this place! Well equipped camper-style kitchen, everything spotlessly clean. Playground and stream, little suspension bridge, bonfire pit, beautiful grassy expanses, great shower house. Looks fantastic for a wedding or a family reunion or any of lots of possibilities.
