Overview

These riverside cabins are ideal for a family looking for an affordable Alaskan lodge experience. All but one of the cabins share a very clean and modern bathhouse. If that’s an issue, then book Cabin #2, which contains its own bathroom, along with two queen beds and a fully equipped kitchen. Your older kids might want to stay in the lodge’s yurt, which has a full bed and a full futon. However you combine it, you’ll get a lot of comfort for your money. Every cabin includes satellite TV, a sitting area, deck and a free breakfast. There are meal plans available for lunches and dinners, which are served family-style in the lodge cookhouse. Parents can relax on the lodge deck while kids play on the swing or roam the spacious property. The lodge offers several all-inclusive fishing and touring packages, so you don’t have to worry about a thing.

The Kasilof River Lodge and Cabins is located 30 minutes south of the Kenai Airport. Its 900 feet of river frontage gives you incredible views and frequent sightings of wildlife. Ten minutes from the lodge are several clamming beaches, where your family can dig up razor clams for lunch or dinner. Don’t worry, though, if your kids don’t like clams; the lodge makes a delicious box lunch as part of its meal plans. There are also several places nearby where you can experience the thrill of dip netting, in which you wade into a shallow part of the river and catch salmon with a big net. Your lodge hosts will be happy to arrange any other excursions, including horseback rides, glacier cruises and gold panning. If you need some snacks or drinks for your cabin, the Kasilof Mercantile is 10 minutes away. Otherwise, the lodge meal plan will satisfy your family’s food requirements. For an all-inclusive relaxing family vacation on the Kenai Peninsula, the Kasilof River Lodge is a great choice.

Reviews

Amazing service and location convenient for fishing

by wrsullivan553

My son and two friends stayed in late July while fishing the Kenai. My son and I stayed in a cabin. My friends stayed upstairs in the main lodge. The cabin had its own bath and kitchenette, a king bed downstairs and a queen mattress in the loft (accessible by ladder). All were comfortable and convenient.

Jeane and Steve were great hosts. Steve arranged fishing guides for us and all were excellent, including one arranged as a last minute thing.

We had most of our meals there. We were up sometimes as early as 3:45 AM for fishing but Jeane was up to make coffee and fix us hot breakfast sandwiches and coffee thermos to go and pack lunches for us. Dinners were great and we all gathered around a campfire before and after. We provided our own beer and wine. Steve had liquor available for those interested.

The other friendly guests and friends Steve and Jeane had around was another bonus.

Excellent service, great food, very friendly

My husband and I stayed in the Eagle's Nest cabin. The bed is very comfortable. We saw lots of signs that moose were on the property, however, were not lucky enough to see one. Steve and Jeanne, and all of the staff for that matter, were very friendly and went out of their way to make it feel like home for us. Definitely choose to get the meal plan. The dinners were fabulous!!! They made it very easy to get our fishing trips set up, helped us purchase our fishing licenses, and helped us with packaging and storage of our fish until we were heading home. They also had poles for us to use if we wanted to fish on our own. We plan on staying here again on our next trip back to Alaska.
