This all-inclusive fishing lodge on the coast of the Kenai Peninsula is an ideal place for a family to experience the best of Alaska. The Bears’ Den can sleep up to eight people on two queen beds, three twin beds, and room for a rollaway or crib. Parents will love having three sinks in the bathroom to hurry kids along in the morning. The room also has a large living room and a kitchen with refrigerator, oven, microwave and coffeemaker. You might not need the kitchen, however, as all meals at the lodge are included in your stay, courtesy of a gourmet chef. The Crooked Creek Retreat is as kid-friendly as they come, featuring hammocks, horseshoes, a game room, a meandering creek to splash in, and a big fire pit for cooking S’mores. Ask the lodge about its special Family Week, when special activities are scheduled for kids of all ages. Other amenities include free Wi-Fi, satellite TV, a library and a BBQ grill.
The Crooked Creek Retreat is located 20 miles south of the Kenai Airport, where the lodge will pick you and your family up if you want. It sits on six beautifully landscaped acres above the creek. The large wraparound deck is covered with Adirondack chairs and is a great place to watch for wildlife. Fishing equipment is provided if you’d like to try your hand in the creek or on the banks of the nearby Kasilof River. The lodge will also arrange guided adventures for your family, including deep sea fishing, horseback riding, kayaking and bear viewing. There’s enough to do in the immediate area that you may not feel the need to venture out on your own. The Crooked Creek Retreat is a unique, kid-friendly vacation spot, and will help your family make some great memories in Alaska.

One of the most if not the most enjoyable vacation of our lifetime. Dorothy and her staff are truly second to no one. The lodge, located three and half hour south of Anchorage on the Kenai peninsula, is well built and maintained in a beautiful Alaskan setting. The staff and fishing guides did absolutely everything for us. All we had to do was show up. The food and fishing were excellent! We came home with over 85 lbs of fish. We are seriously considering going back.
Dorothy runs a truly incredible resort in a beautiful setting with a creek including fish running through the backyard. The meals were professionally prepared and as good as any 5 star restaurant. The rooms were spacious and amazing; the beds were perfect. They were able to accommodate the varying needs of our group from Glacier/whale watching to guided river fishing to remote fly-in lakes.
I have never experienced an adventure that so completely immersed me, in the beauty of Alaska, that for the first time EVER,I never once thought of work or other worldly distractions. I can not imagine a better level of care to guest, anywhere else, as we received here at Crooked Creek Retreat and Outfitters. We brought lots of fish home as well... so nice.
