I love staying at Kimpton hotels, and I fell in love with him during my visits to the Dash city. Someone mentioned that there was this cool/chic hotel in town, and we were sick of staying at the run-down larger name hotels in town. I tried it out and have never looked back. Last month was probably my 7th stay at this hotel. The hospitality is top notch. The rooms are all different and are very spacious! The best thing that I love about this hotel is that they are not only pet-friendly, but go above that! They have treats for your furry loved ones at the front desk, and have your dogs name on their small board welcoming them to the hotel! They also provide doggie beds if you need one. I also love their wine hour. The restaurants are Kimpton hotels are the best and The Katherine is one of the best! The basement is awesome! There's a huge playroom, basketball court, ping pong table, pool table, and a two lane bowling alley! Oh and a very cool slide! Kudos to all at the Cardinal for always making your guests feel welcome!
The Kimpton Cardinal Hotel is not bad but it doesn't exceed expectations either.
I stayed in a 1-bedroom suite. The furnishing was a bit tired but the room was spacious. The chair by the desk was ridiculously uncomfortable :( All in all, the place looked better in photos than in reality.
My room (602) was in a relatively quiet spot but the noise for the large industrial AC or whatever other engines they have out there could be heard loudly in the room. I finally got used to it (sort of "white noise") but if you're a light sleeper that might be an issue for you.
One unhappy episode: I asked to check out at 1:30 pm. The front desk associate insisted she could only do 1 pm without a charge. Didn't help to explain that my meeting will only be over at 1 pm. Being over-stiff isn't a good habit with any customer, especially when a platinum member is facing you.
Would I be back? Will probably try another property first but may.
