We stayed here during our visit to san antonio! We were surprised beyond our expectations at the service and quality of the resort and staff! I highly recommend everyone to stay here while in town! Try the ice cream at the cafe!
This is the nicest of the handful of "resort" properties I have stayed in the San Antonio area.
Rooms: Spacious, bright and clean. Rooms were well maintained and current in decor. Our 2 queen room had 2 closets and a makeup counter area. Huge bathroom with a large shower, 2 sinks and a separate toilet closet. Beds were really comfortable.
Service: all of the staff we encountered (front desk, housekeeping, pool staff, food service) seemed to go out of the way to be pleasant and welcoming. Valet staff were really really nice, but man - it took 20-30 minutes to retrieve our vehicle each time, even during off periods like 7 am. The valet offers the ability to text your ticket number for faster retrieval, but I estimate that half the time, the valet staff was not monitoring the texts - I learned to let the valets know once I got downstairs that i had texted my ticket number. About half the time, it resulted in the attendant grabbing the key from the drawer so in those cases, I knew that my text did not expedite retrieval of the car. Self parking is really far away, with a long uphill walk in the heat - the staff had golf carts which ran pretty regularly to help people to their vehicles.
Location: Great hill country location close to the La Cantera shopping area and UTSA. Took us about 25 min to drive to the Riverwalk on a Friday evening. Only 20 minutes to get to the airport.
Atmosphere - because we were there for the weekend, the pools and grounds attract a lot of families. Lobby is relaxing and buzzing with activity - there was live music, with a guitarist in the afternoons.
Amenities - the numerous pools with the view of the hill country is the highlight of this property. There was a main pool, an adults only pool, and a pool with a couple of large water slides. Property also a video game arcade. Gym was extremely well equipped, many machines, dumbells, cable machines, and other weight machines.
Restaurants - mexican cantina by the pool was outstanding for snacks and cool drinks. Dinner in the Sweetwater restaurant was underwheming - menu was creative, but preparation was just ok. Marketplace had a good coffee/pastry selection for the morning and ice cream/snacks for other parts of the day.
