Overview

Once the governor’s palace during French rule, this magnificent Art Deco hotel is complete with a large pool, gracious gardens and numerous games, such as Ping Pong and basketball. Complimentary bicycles are great for exploring the city.

This is a comprehensive resort with slightly higher prices than others, but boutique shopping, a large library and concierge tour desk are among the amenities that extra money buys. Children under 12 stay for free and there is no additional charge for cribs.

Enthusiastic Service but Soulless

by kbsNewYork

The staff is friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurant good, but not fantastic. Rooms were comfortable and clean. But oddly they kept leaving more and more towels and sometimes left dirty towels in the sink. The entire ambiance, however is soulless and joyless. The bar was awkward, the lobby sterile, and the grounds bland. Probably one of the better hotels in Hue, but don’t expect to be blown away. But you will be comfortable.

Beautiful place. Memories from a distant past.

We spent 2 nights at the Azerai. We liked the design and ambiance which relate to a distant past. It's not your typical glitzy luxury hotel. It's beautiful and stylish in a discrete way. Rooms are spacious and well renovated. Cocktails by the pool were excellent. The Azerai is approx. 1 km from the center, located along the Perfume River. Taxi to and from the center or to the Citadel are very easy to arrange. Staff is very helpful. A slight downer was the ongoing renovation works. We were advised about it by Management prior to our arrival. They gave us a reasonable food/drink voucher. Pity we couldn't enjoy breakfast at the spacious ground floor area overlooking the Perfume river. It was relocated to a small area on the 3rd floor. Breakfast was good. Given the limited space emphasis was more on presentation than choice. Overall a good experience, and we would definitely return again.
