Overview

For as much water is in the middle of and surrounding the city of Holland, Michigan, there is only one hotel situated on any of it! This seasonal waterfront resort overlooking a marina is made up of a collection of condos, many of which have ample space and bedding for a family, with two queen beds or sleeper sofas. Kids will love the outdoor heated saltwater pool, play area and shuffleboard court.

A Most Relaxing Vacation

by JeffM1951

We just returned from 5 very relaxing days at the Lake Ranch Resort. The amenities are excellent and the room was quiet and pleasant. My only suggestion would be to add a small dresser to store our clothes. There are rooms with kitchenettes available. There is a nice heated pool, and the views of Lake Macatawa are fantastic. We spent a lot of time simply sitting outside our room and relaxing while looking at the lake and listening to the sounds of the waves. There are several restaurants a close drive away, and the downtown is close. There is assigned parking outside your room, so parking is never a problem. The resort is basically across the street from the Holland State Park and about a half mile from the beach on Lake Michigan. We will be back!

Not romantic and overly kid friendly

My husband and I stayed here for 3 days celebrating our Anniversary. I've lived in Holland all my life and so we knew the surrounding area extremely well. The resort was within good walking distance of everything but a good cup of coffee and breakfast was missing. We had walked to the beach along side the water on the new walk ways. The weather was windy through out the weekend and so kayaking was not really a first for us to do which was a bummer. The pool area was at times always loud full of kids and crowded. In the rooms they were very clean and cozy for just 2 people, only a few little negative things here were the continuous noises from the air conditioner it made annoying noises all night. The units next to us the first couples were quiet then the second new couple came with 3-4 kids babies crying, 11:45pm showers which were loud when your bed is up to the bathroom wall, loud door slams and expect in some mornings to hearing and seeing a family of early risers out your front door playing. It was like they accommodate more to kids activities then couples. If you want some peace and quiet it's not here at all for honeymooners, if you don't mind kids infringing on your space along with parents not giving a crap and you are up for starting a family then this is training to see what you can handle. In the rooms they're were alot of spiders I don't think the cleaning lady wanted to look in the easy corners of the room cause we could visually see them. I used the kitchen towel to kill all the mosquitos in our room. Don't come in late at night and it won't be a problem but also we are by water so yeah can't help it. Beds were hard as a rock. Wifi sucked! It cut in and out we used it when we needed a break from outside and to just rest a little. There was a birds nest in the back by our unit door which was funny but bad for guests staying here we have the same birds that created a nest by our front door at our home as well so we knew they'd be no harm but they're mean and always come close to hitting our heads. Pool hours were weird closes at 8pm but in past summers I've seen open way after 9:30pm. We would probably come here again maybe our next time will be with a baby and we'll definitely be trying another unit.
