We stayed for 5 nights at the end of August in a junior suite and it was perfect.
As the room had a bay window, we had the most amazing view up and down Madison Avenue.
Compared to most NYC hotels, this is a small hotel but it is perfectly formed. Last time we were in NYC, we stayed at The London Hotel and we were on the 37th floor. It was lovely to be on the 8th floor and be able to be part of the city. We thought that the traffic might be an issue but it really wasn't. Considering how central this hotel is, it is very quiet. We event slept with the windows open one night!
All of the staff at the hotel are just lovely; polite, friendly and helpful.
The Library room within the hotel is like a little oasis in Manhattan. Great to have continental breakfast before heading out for the day and also lovely to come back to throughout the day. There is always tea, coffee, danishes etc available. The evening cheese and wine is really nice and a great way to start your evening. Whilst we were there, we went to some evening matches at The US Open. We didn't get back to the hotel until 1am. We went to The library room for a cold drink and the staff member popped out of the kitchen and asked would we like a glass of wine. That's great service!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here next time we are in NYC.
Is it overpriced? Yes but so is everything in New York! The room was clean and updated but small. But what do you expect in New York when space is at a premium. We appreciated the breakfast and wine & cheese social hour. The best part is the service and how we were greeted every time we walked through the lobby. The offered to help us with anything! We would stay here again.
