Warmth and kindness infuse this hotel!

by James L

We had heard great things about the Library Hotel on 41st and Madison in NYC. My husband surprised me with a much-needed NYC getaway and chose this hotel. We stayed only one night but we will definitely return!

We were welcomed to this spotless and sparkly hotel by warm, gracious, and professional staff. The front desk staff, the bellman, the reading room attendant obviously took great pride in their hotel and were genuinely invested in providing us with a memorable experience. The elevator brought us to our room in the 900s, (perfect for history buffs!) The hallway was quiet and peaceful with low, serene booklamps leading the way to our room. The room was spacious, clean, fresh-smelling, and elegant. Thick, thirsty towels, cozy, comforting bedding, the most luxurious bathrobes I've every experienced, and beautiful architectural touches made for an uplifting and memorable stay. Hundreds of great book titles provided us with a lovely wind-down to a great day in the city.

We enjoyed the wine and cheese reception in the afternoon, the rooftop bar and lounge in the evening, and the lovely breakfast spread in the morning. We hated to check out!! I would love to live in the Library Hotel like Eloise in the Plaza, but alas, it is not to be. We shall most definitely return to the cleanest, friendliest, most comfortable and unique hotels I have experienced in NYC!! Thank you, to all who worked in front of and behind the scenes to make our stay so special AND to the organization that clearly states that KINDNESS and GRACIOUSNESS are part of their company values. A mission statement we appreciate, embrace, and need.

Great location

Fantastic location and staff. Rooms very small. But didn't impact the enjoyment of our short stay in NYC.
They have a complimentary continental breakfast and evening drinks in the same room.
You can go up there anytime for coffee which is great when you come back from a long day out.
