The Mirbeau Inn & Spa Skaneateles is a lovely place to escape with the kids in New York’s Finger Lakes. The AAA Four-Diamond property features deluxe accommodations with fireplaces and free Wi-Fi. It also has a lovely restaurant and spa.
While the resort mostly attracts couples, families are always welcome.
Mirbeau Inn & Spa Skaneateles has a sister property in Plymouth, Massachusetts (Cape Cod), Mirbeau Inn & Spa at the Pinehills.

A day away for daily stress was what we needed and boy did we find the right spot for that...beautiful exterior and interior even on a cold December day. We began with some time in the sauna and then massages and some relaxing time thereafter in the lounge and foot bath area. Ken and Ryan were masterful therapists, Joan was most welcoming and helpful upon purr arrival to the spa. The locker rooms are spacious, clean and well attended so a constant supply of clean towels, ice cold wash cloths (for post sauna), many amenities, large showers and the lounge are very quite, subdued lighting, warm foot bath pool, soft music, easy to nod off to sleep, especially after those massages. The Spa offers work out and yoga classes as well as a full compliment of massage, facial, and other health/relaxation related experiences and services.
Our room was in one of the cottages overlooking the grounds, warm and very spacious with fireplace, balcony, large tub and large tiled shower, twin sinks and extremely quite (I am a light sleeper and heard nothing...slept till 8 when I am normally u and about by 5:30). Ice and water and chocolate were personally delivered, umbrellas outside each unit There are basic in room amenities for free and many added ones for a fee(a tad pricy for the food and beverage) to include some very nice health and beauty products. We hated to leave the comfort. But we will return.
Our "cottage" room (#222) was large, comfortable and quiet. Despite late October, chilly weather the garden view from our second floor level was beautiful. The cottages and main house are designed like French manor houses. The outdoor hot tub (capacity: 15-18) was well designed and delightful. Staff in the dining room, spa, housekeeping and bar were welcoming and informative. In the last of these we got a very helpful tip to drive to the beautiful falls in Treman State Park. The one dinner we ate in the spa was not memorable: the salmon was bland. However there are great restaurants nearby. We found the spa treatments of uneven quality. My wife liked her massage but my therapist seemed inexperienced and a bit brusque. The person leading Restorative Yoga put very little effort into providing instructions. We would still return for another visit.
