If you’re looking for a stay in the ultimate luxury, then we highly recommend the Mountain Lodge. This ski-in, ski-out lodge is engulfed in panoramic views of the San Juan Mountains, and features a stone fireplace (one of only two in Telluride), onsite family dining, and an outdoor heated pool (open year-round).
Rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated, the onsite restaurant is delicious, and the free shuttle ensures guests see as much as they possibly can during their visit to Telluride- though you can easily walk to everything — another perk for families.
Keep an eye out for the resident cat, Mario. He’s often spotted meandering around the property.

MLT is a great place to stay. Clean rooms. Excellent service. Friendly Staff. Close proximity to Free Gondola connecting Mountain Village to Telluride. Free shuttle to and from the Free Gondola makes for ease of traveling and see the area without a car. Shuttle driver Oscar was very attentive and helpful, always quick to pick us up and drop us off.
I love the location and atmosphere of this hotel. The free gondola service is so close by and easy to take to get into Telluride. The pool/bar area is really great, especially on a sunny day! The main problem I had is that the bed was uncomfortable - it was so disappointing to not have a comfortable mattress after several nights of camping!
The other problem we experienced was that restaurant service was very slow/poor at times and it seems like an issue with under staffing.
Pool & Jacuzzis
The outdoor heated pool and Jacuzzis (there are two of them) are the perfect place to rest your tired muscles, and the view really can't be beat. Watch as skiers zip by on the neighboring trail, and perhaps even catch one of Telluride's stellar sunsets, while sipping on some hot cocoa or a cocktail.
The View Bar & Grill
Start or end your day at the cozy and delicious onsite restaurant at the Mountain Lodge. It features 30-foot floor-to-ceiling windows, a wood-burning stone fireplace, and four big screen TVs to help catch you up on sports. Breakfast (not included in the nightly rate) includes French toast, omelets, smoked salmon bagels, and breakfast burritos.
The Apres Ski/Dinner menu is a bit more extensive, and features yummy shareable plates, including wings, truffle fries, shrimp tacos, and a variety of cheeses. Other menu items include salads, sandwiches, pasta, and dessert.
Kids are sure to devour the chicken tender basket, while parents delight in the salmon BLT or the elk shepherd's pie.
