Not to be confused with their sister property Murphy’s Resort, the River Lodge is a comfortable, rustic hotel nestled by the banks of Fall River. Most of the rooms have 1-2 beds, but you can book the King Plus Room to thrill the kids with a bunk bed while parents relax in style on the king-size. Larger families can take advantage of the King Plus room’s sofa sleeper, which has been upgraded to include a memory foam mattress (no springs digging into anyone’s back!). All rooms include refrigerators and microwaves, and the lodge is within walking distance to local shops and restaurants.
After a long day of exploring the Rockies, relax in the hot tub while the kids splash in the indoor pool, then borrow a DVD from the hotel’s collection to watch before bed. Free wifi and breakfast are included in your stay–and as a bonus, if you’d like your picture taken in their oversized rocking chair, they’ll give you a framed copy at no charge.
