Overview

Not to be confused with their sister property Murphy’s Resort, the River Lodge is a comfortable, rustic hotel nestled by the banks of Fall River. Most of the rooms have 1-2 beds, but you can book the King Plus Room to thrill the kids with a bunk bed while parents relax in style on the king-size. Larger families can take advantage of the King Plus room’s sofa sleeper, which has been upgraded to include a memory foam mattress (no springs digging into anyone’s back!). All rooms include refrigerators and microwaves, and the lodge is within walking distance to local shops and restaurants.

After a long day of exploring the Rockies, relax in the hot tub while the kids splash in the indoor pool, then borrow a DVD from the hotel’s collection to watch before bed. Free wifi and breakfast are included in your stay–and as a bonus, if you’d like your picture taken in their oversized rocking chair, they’ll give you a framed copy at no charge. These thoughtful extras and the friendly staff make Murphy’s River Lodge a place visitors love to return to.

Please with our stay

by Beth E

I have stayed at a lot of different places in Estes Park and Murphy's River Lodge is my favorite. The staff are very friendly, the room was clean and well furnished. Having a fireplace and sofa in the sitting area was nice. Their website did not mention having a blow dryer as an amenity, but there was one. Their continental breakfast was a nice touch since most places do not offer that feature. Parking was a little crowded and you could not always get a spot in front our your. I would stay there again!

Beautiful view and lovely people running the establishment

by Marsha J

Sitting on the back deck with the sound of the running stream was very peaceful. Towels and tissues were meticulously folded like swans and flowers ... what a great touch! We only stayed one night, but we did get to enjoy the hottub and a hot breakfast. The people, however, truly made the experience a good one. My husband had injured his achilles and one of the employees actually gave him a boot he had just finished using - it was a lifesaver. Everything about the experience was great!
