Overview

The rooms are a little smaller at this hotel, so maybe not a good choice if you’re adding a crib and other baby paraphernalia to the space. The tubs, too, are extremely deep and difficult for bathing little ones.

But if you’re traveling with older children who are eager to get out and explore on foot, you can’t beat this location. One of the things you have to do in Vietnam is a cyclo-tour/rickshaw ride and there’s a tour desk just for that and more in the lobby.

Complimentary airport transportation is offered seasonally and with multiple room nights.

Family visit/holiday

by H3208VFjohnb

We stayed during October for three nights initially. We then had a few nights in Phu Quoc with another one night in HCMC before the journey home. We liked the hotel so much that we returned for our last night although we had not originally booked. Overall we could not fault the hotel. We got a free transfer to and from the airport which is offered for guests who stay more than one night. It was efficient and helpful after a long journey. The location is great for tourists in District 1. The staff were very friendly and the room was spacious and comfortable. The afternoon tea was a real treat. The rooftop pool area was lovely and we hardly noticed the work going on close by. This was our first trip to Vietnam and this hotel helped make it a holiday to remember. Thank you!

Not the 5 star service we expected

by CoatesyM

This is our first time in a 5 star hotel so had high expectations and saved it for the end of our Vietnam trip. We found the service and quality far better in other 4 star hotels that we visited on our trip. Check-in was cold and a bit rushed with no time to enjoy the drink or snacks and no advice on things to do in Saigon. The hotel location and design is really good, especially the reception area. Bedroom design was cool but some items are quite tired (eg the box containing the hotel info). Wifi signal was poor in the room, fridge was not cold and the jacuzzi on balcony was dirty from all the building work next door (which we were not warned about). There is also a window in the bathroom that shines light into the bedroom all night from the corridor. On the plus side, the bed was huge and very comfortable and there is an amazing pool on the roof. On our first night we ordered drinks by the pool. We asked the waiter which cocktails were included in happy hour and he pointed to the first page so we chose two of these. When we paid, the staff said there is no happy hour in the pool bar and the waiter said he did not understand us and seemed to forget what he told us. The 2 cocktails also took 40 mins to come but we just assumed it was slow because everyone was ordering on happy hour which was obviously not the case!! On the next day I had to ask twice for a beer by the pool. I would expect better service in a 5 star hotel. Overall disappointed, I'm sure we could have stayed in a perfectly good hotel for half the price.
