Everyone loves “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” which first aired on CBS on December 9, 1965. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of its debut, the U.S. Post Office is debuting a special holiday stamp featuring scenes from the classic holiday special on October 1. An official dedication ceremony will take place at the Charles M. Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa, California.

The dedication will be free and open to the public. Although the television special debuted in 1965, the Peanuts comic strip debuted October 2, 1950 in the Washington Post, the Chicago Tribune, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, the Allentown Call-Chronicle, the Bethlehem Glove-Times, the Denver Post, and the Seattle Times.

Ten still frames from “A Charlie Brown Christmas” will be available in books of 20 on October 1.
