American Airlines Announces First Class Service for Pets

Traveling with the furriest member of your family is about to get easier on American Airlines.

The airline has announced the addition of pet cabins, according to a report by Conde Nast Traveler. The new cabins, which accommodate both cats and dogs, are available on select flights between New York (JFK) and Los Angeles, and New York (JFK) and San Francisco. There are two pet cabins per plane.

Non-collapsible carriers (to be placed in pet cabins) can be a maximum of 19 inches by 13 inches by 9 inches, according to American Airlines. Visit the airline’s website for other restrictions and rules for traveling with pets.
