American Revolution Museum Opens in Yorktown

A salute to the 13 original states, museum dedication and patriotic ceremonies will be the feature of the Grand Opening festivities at Yorktown, Virginia’s new American Revolution Museum. The special celebration will take place March 23 through April 4, 2017 with 13 days of events for the 13 states who received independence in 1776.

The new museum replaces the Yorktown Victory Center and features immersive indoor gallery exhibits, living history experiences, and nearly 500 period artifacts. The 13 days of ceremonies will take place in the order of states ratified in the Constitution: Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, South Carolina, New Hampshire, Virginia, New York, North Carolina and Rhode Island. A dedication ceremony will take place on April 1, 2017.

The American Revolution Museum at Yorktown is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Tickets are $12 for adults, $7 for children 6 to 12, with children under 6 are free. Combination tickets are available with Jamestown Settlement.
