Carnival Cruise Line announced it will be expanding its Dr. Seuss-themed programming with the addition of a new water park on its 2018 sailing of Carnival Horizon. The new ship by Carnival takes the current offerings of Seuss-a-palooza parade and story time, Dr. Seuss Bookville and Seuss at Sea character breakfasts to new heights on its sports deck.

Dr. Seuss WaterWorks will feature an enclosed Cat in the Hat raft slide that takes kids along a 450-foot thrill ride. Smaller kids will enjoy the Fun Things body slide, which stretches 213 feet with special lighting effects and Thing 1 and Thing 2 mischief. A splash zone with a 150-gallon tipping bucket will also be featured at the Deck 12 water park.

Carnival Horizon will begin sailing next April in Europe before arriving in New York May 23, 2018, to begin sailings to the Caribbean. It will be based out of Miami beginning September 22, 2018, with six- and eight-day Caribbean sailings. Bookings are not being accepted.
