Cape Ann’s landmark hotel, the Emerson Inn, will reopen next month following a major renovation and new ownership.

Formerly Emerson Inn by the Sea, the Migis Hotel Group acquired and renovated the property to provide a family seaside vacation with a bed-and-breakfast experience. The entire property received an upgrade, including guest accommodations and the inn’s restaurant, renamed to Pigeon Cove Tavern, for the inn’s oceanfront location.

The historic property has been operating as an inn since the 1850s and is named for one of the inn’s most famous guests, Ralph Waldo Emerson. Migis Hotel Group transformed the 36-room property with private balconies, spa tubs, and views of the Atlantic Ocean back into a destination inn, within walking distance of historic Rockport, Massachusetts.

Emerson Inn will reopen on May 13, 2016, in Cape Ann, just 40 minutes north of Boston.
